abstractFor the third consecutive year, undergraduates in the final years of the Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Genoa have completed their period at their tutor GPs’ surgeries.
The experience was made possible by a memorandum of intent signed with the University in April 2003, which provides for this type of internship to be included among the elective educational activities. The internship was preceded by an introductory seminar. During this, aims and methods were discussed. Following the internship there was a concluding seminar which students and tutors were invited to, and during which comments and opinions were gathered. The data collected shows that students of medicine appreciate the internship period at a general practitioner’s surgery. |
